replacing fuel pump filter

That's great, thanks. Too bad I didn't see this before I went to the boat this evening. Anyway was very easy, the only difficulty as with many items is just getting to it (simple as its shown in the link).
after reading link now not sure how well I checked the gasket.. AND not sure if I put the new filter in the right direction ( I put in with the open end on bottom, from link looks as though open end on top?). Anyway very easy to check again.
(Mine certainly didnt look like the link. Filter wasn't too bad but the bottom casing had a lot of muck (not to mention the muck mixed with fuel which drained out when I opened)
