Dave, You might try FASCO in The San Francisco area, Alameda to be more
specific. (www.fascofastener.com) They have a tremendous amount of marine
fasteners in stock and are one of the suppliers for West Marine. We were
usually able to special order anything we needed from them through West
Marine. Can't think of the name but there is another large supplier in the
New England area, I know they advertise in Wooded Boat.
New Found Metals (www.newfoundmetals.com)is another outfit of interest to
boaters. I don't know if they supply fasteners but they make cast bronze
equipment, beautiful port lights, etc. They might be able to supply you with
some sources for fasteners. Just as an aside, we used stainless fasteners
the first time we worked on the handrails. The condition of the origional
bronze left alot to be desired. The next time we worked on them we replaced
the teak rails with stainless ones. They look good and are much stronger.
Good luck. Walt.
