I have a 1989 Hunter Legend 37. Main and 135 are Dacron 7 years old and starting to show their age. 4 year old asymmetrical is in good shape and have new symmetrical. I live on the east coast of Florida, just south of the space center. Have done the Ft. Lauderdale to Key West for past 6 years, best finish was last year, 3rd in PHRF C. Did the Gulfstreamer, Ponce Inlet to Charleston in 2008, finished 3rd to two J120s and they only best us by 1 hour corrected. Did the Ft. Lauderdale to Charleston this year but had to withdraw after wrapping the spinnaker around the forestay and not being able to get it down. We were in first place, 160nm from Charleston (408nm race) and 80nm east of St. Augustine when we quit. How disappointing! That is why I have new spinnaker. In 2010 we plan to do Ft. Lauderdale to Key West in January, Ft. Lauderdale to Charleston in April and Gulfstreamer in May. Great year coming up! I am in the process of all new standing rigging and new furler. Saw a friend fold his mast at the spreaders recently and starting thinking about 20 year old rigging on my boat. Decided to change it, swaged on top, StaLock on bottom. Also installing new RG8x VHF RF cable and mast top antenna.
