I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS A RATING FOR THEIR 33.5. MINE IS A 1992 WITH STANDARD 2 BLADE PROP,POLELESS ASYM CRUISING SPIN ,BULB-WING KEEL, 3CYL 28 HP DIESEL, AND LARGEST JIB ABOUT 140 %.
Kieth: We race our 1989 33.5 on Lake Stockton, non-spin, 155 head sail, feathering prop., same keel, and use a rating of 146. Is this your first year racing the 33.5? Let's keep in touch and compare notes as the season progresses. Good luck, RBcaptainronb@earthlink.net
My San Francisco PHRF with a 150% genoa, spinnaker and feathering prop is 144. This seems a fair rating for triangle courses but not so fair on windward/leeward courses, since the headstay sag keeps the boat from pointing very well. I am putting running backstays on my new mast( see my post last week!) so as to point higher while not getting a rating hit.
