Can anyone share a photo or two of how the galley cabinet is mounted or slides in/out of a mac 25? I just bought a boat and it is missing the cabinet. I have found one 1800 miles away and it's being shipped now. I haven't a clue if it bolts onto a slide rail or what. There is 4 holes in the boat where it goes, but I can't find anything on how it slides. Thanks and keep enjoying Big Mac's!

The one I have

has some bolts sticking down and you just slide it into place into the holes that are on the seat.

slides into place?

You say it simply slides into place? Does the bolts slide (gouge) the fiberglass? Does it just sit on these bolts when slide under the cockpit? I could see the holes keep it stationary, but this sliding around sounds funny.

Your right, I should have been more

descriptive. My galley you kind of tilt it back and slide it into place. It doesn't scratch because it is fiberglass on fiberglass. I guess if you let it slide on the bolts, then yes it would scratch. It is not very heavy. It's like a big box, probably weighs in at 15 lbs. but I never used it while sailing. If I had it this past summer installed, it would have tipped over when I did some major heeling! I guess you couldl bolt it down in place. Mac

Nylon Nuts and Bolts

I went to the local Home Depot and obtained some furniture skid pads which are basically 2" round felt disks with sticky adhesive backing and stuck them in the four bottom corners. On the forward inside bottom end of the galley are two holes, in these holes I put in either 3/8" or 1/4" nylon bolts that I got a local "well stocked" hardware store. And, like Mac said, just lift up the forward end of the galley so the bolts come out of their restraining holes and slide either forward or aft to the next set. The galley is very light, we don't use the sink with a water hookup so there isn't any water jugs to add weight. We just store cooking utensils and supplies in the sink. We've never had a problem with the sink coming loose during rock and roll time. (Boat goes faster flater - no more than 15 to 20 degrees heel) Rusty
