The steering on my 1984 Passport 40 is very tight. I can man-handle the wheel stop to stop, but the emergency tiller can't turn the rudder. I'vbe disconnected the cables, and the autohelm, but it is still very stiff. The problem appears to be in the shaft seal, or where the rudder quadrant is connected to the shaft basket. Any other Passport 40 owners run into this?
