Paint Option - Polyurethane Enamel

Hi there,

Anybody have actual experience with using Coronado Polyurethane Enamel, or an equivalent product, on their boat? It's a standard "oil" paint for metal. Comes in gloss or semigloss. Numerous folks have suggested it as a good coating for fiberglass.

"Coronado Rust Scat® Polyurethane Enamel is a rust-preventative coating that delivers exceptional hardness and durability. Formulated with a urethane-modified alkyd resin."

Not something I'd contemplate for my bigger cruiser, but I've got a 20' day sailer from the early 80's that I'd like to refresh, with a more modest investment of money, time and effort. If I go this route, vs. a proper marine top coat, am I saving cents now to spend dollars later?

Hoping to hear from someone who's actually used this kind of product and can report on longevity, etc.
