On the Great Lakes, we've (knock on wood) been lucky with mildew so far. The only problem we've had was when someone left the cockpit cushions out overnight and the dew mildewed the covers and got the foam inside wet. (Yes, we're going to get Bottomsiders, but not yet!) The foam dried out after a couple of days in the sun. X-14 got the mildew stains off the vinyl cushions. It's wonderful stuff! Just be careful! It bleaches EVERYTHING! Including the clothes you have on while using it! Happy Sailing!

Two things can help mold/mildew problems: 1) install one or two Nicro solar vents to keep air circulating in the cabin, and 2) use No-Damp, a chemical dessicant that you leave in a little tub in your cabin and it sucks moisture out of the air. It really really works!
