Cruiser's Net (Claibourne Young) reports that the Oriental Trading Company, closed for several months, has been re-opened by McCotter's Marina, Washington, NC and will operate the store/chandlery on the Oriental waterfront. Additionally the town is building another free dock , Nice additions to a great destination.

They (trading Company) also offers free bikes for cruisers while in town. As one can bike everywhere in Oriental, this is a great addition!

The new docks may be delayed a while. The area needs dredging as they found it was only 3-4.5 ft deep. That must be approved by the state Coastal agency who's wheels grind very slowly.
