23's on the Map
I wanted to do this years ago with my 23 but it did not happen. But last year I met a guy who had 6 23's at ther club. I got hold of the new owner of my 23 and we went and won. They have had ther 2nd 23 National and it was a success. I than bought a 25.5 and tried to get something with that allot of interest but not all boats were at the same place. I now have a 28.5 and would love to do some One Design racing. Again not enough boats in the same area. Ther are allot of 28.5's on Lake Erie and I started a 28.5 group of about 24 boats on the list and about 3 or 4 of us race, the rest just sail. The biggest problem you will have is getting enough boats in the same place, also getting the same model. Hunter's are wonderful boats but the have made allot of boats in the same size. The Liberty Cup was a success because because the skipper's and crew were invited to race. IF you look at the boat list you will see ther are about 3 boats in any given size range and ther all different boat's. We did 6 of the big race's on Lake Erie and were the only Hunter racing in most of them. The was a 31 & a 34 that did real well this year.Cliff Hunter 28.5 " Red Dog"
