Hello guys,Back about 3 weeks ago I posted a message mentioning that I was leaving the Montreal area to go south with the boat for the winter. Thanks to those who posted Bon Voyage notes. To those who asked about the set-up with the mast down for the trip through the canals, send me a message and I can forward an explanation and a few pictures of the set-up.I re-stepped the mast at Castleton-on-Hudson and kept going. I am grateful for the great weather even though it has been unbearably hot at times and with very little wind. So it has been a lot of motoring. I ran the Jersey coast outside, stopping at Sandy Hook, Barnegat Light, Atlantic City and Cape May. The days had to be kind of short because of morning fogs thick enough to cut with a knife. Thank god for radar as I ran from AC to Cape May 3 nm from the coast in complete pea soup. I am now in Annapolis, leaving tomorrow for St-Michael's. I have some time on my hands to explore the Bay. Would those of you familiar with it be kind enough to give me pointers as to what to do, where to go, places to see, places to be careful about or to avoid altogether. Please come forward with ideas and suggestions. If you see a Hunter 34 with a blue dodger and bimini flying the Canadian Maple Leaf, chances are it's me. Boat name is Sacripant. Don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll explain personnally where the name comes from and what it means. Also, I would need a recommendation for a place to leave the boat for a couple of weeks somewhere near the 35th parallel. Would Elizabeth City be a good and reasonably priced place ? Insurance doesn't want me below the 35th before November 15th so since I am sailing solo I plan to get back home and see my family while I have to wait. Picture taken from shore at the West 79th St. Basin in NYC.Regards, and Thanks to all
