Nova Scotia

The recent message from David Nettleship on St. Margaret's Bay, Nova
Scotia, has made me curious whether there are any Vega owners in the
Yarmouth area or elsewhere who are familiar with cruising in that area?
We keep our Vega in downeast Maine, not far from the small town of
Milbridge, and are currently planning a cruise across Fundy this summer
that will take us to the Yarmouth area and east (but probably not east
of Cape Sable). We have Loveridge's cruising guide and have just
ordered a set of Canadian charts, but it would be helpful to hear from
someone familiar with that area about their preferences for quiet
anchorages and possible changes in facilities and so on since Loveridge
published in 1997. Thanks to anyone with experience in that area.

Hi David,

I was a bit puzzled by the minutes of the meeting at the St. Margarets Bay Yacht Club. Have you started a Vega group there?

We are probably going to buy a summer place on Big Tancook Island. I would like to leave my Vega there, but it's about 3400 miles from here, even further from San Francisco Bay where I keep the boat, and I don't have a trailer or a vehicle big enough to tow it to Nova Scotia. I will bring the 26' St Pierre Dory I built, and keep it in the small harbor at the island.

I am looking forward to sailing the waters around Nova Scotia.
