Last week, I learned of a new scam. I really don't think anyone on this board is stupid enough to go for it, but want to share anyway. Within a matter of a week, I received numerous calls, from 11 different numbers. Each one told me my loan has been approved. Amounts ranging from 2500 to 10,000. No guarantor, no co signer, no collateral. I was of course irritated at these stupid calls. These guys are not particularly good, but are very insistant. When I say, " I made no loan application", the answer was " Yes sir you did, I have it right here." And on and on. So, I started giving them bogus info. My bank and account numbers are both 9 digits, and I figure all banks are pretty close to the same. So to avoid screwing anyone else, I was giving them numbers of 18 digits for routing numbers, and 6 for account numbers. Hopefully I managed to screw up their program just a little bit. I also wrote down all numbers and called every entity I could think of to report this crap.
