Hello all! Trimhorn and I just bought his dream boat, an old (1973) Cal 2-29, all original! There's plenty to do to restore the her, but we're ecstatic to have found a one-owner single-hander that hasn't been spoiled by poorly thought out modifications. Trimhorn is on his way, bringing her back, sailing up the Florida intercoastal as we speak. Due to a previous commitment (which took me the other direction), I was unable to participate in her homecoming to Savannah. It's going to be a great summer!

also new to us - cal 2-29

An old seascout friend and I are aquiring a 1973 Cal 2-29 and I'm pretty excited about it too! Hope to follow your progress. This one was abandoned somewhere and eventually towed to a marina and re-abandoned. The marina aquired the title and donated it to a scout group for tax benefits. The scout group is primarily powerboats, so they are selling it to us for a token amount, which is a common way for scout 'ships' to raise money. It seems to be in pretty good shape, mostly from benin neglect. It has a 10hp Bukh diesel (not working) and lots of spiders.
