Looking for replacemnet aluminum Spreader tips for my CAL I have Spruce Spreaders and the tips are Aluminum.. Hunting all over.. Anyone have any ideas where I might get a couple to replace my broken one ???Thanks
I have only had the '75 27 Cal for two years and took mast down and spreaders off this fall. The cups that the spreaders sit in and which fit in the mast brackets are very cracked and the aluminum inner filling rotted. Please advise if you know where I can replace them. Also, the brackets that hold all the cabinet doors are rusted, any idea where I can get replacements???Thank you Jeanette
I think you may be describing something a little different than the problem I had.. My spreaders were spruce and had two Aluminium plates to each spreader one top and one bottom. Your 'Cups' sound a little different. I am hoping that you are not describing the tangs into which the spreaders fit! Are you saying that your spreaders (are they wood?) fit into some cup that slips into the mast tangs.I had to have mine made and this was more luck than judgement. 1st place to look would be SealSpars on the web. Draw a piccy of the item with measuremnets, email Steve Seal, he is undoubtly the CAL rigging guru. If he cant point you in the right direction then no-one can. 2nd choice would be to get NEW spreaders!! There is a company (was on here) that were able to make replacements.3rd and my best choice was to find a small engineering or fabrication company and have them copy the old one! mine worked out nicely cost me $80 for three.Hope that helps Steve
