Need parts

I live in south jersey and just got my cat 22.I need to know where to find affordable parts, like a rudder, trailer [swing keel], cushions etc . Is there a salvage yard between New york and Virginia i could try.

Big parts!

Those certainly aren't your average every day parts! You could place an ad on this site listing what you need (check the Classifieds section) or see if anyone has anything listed. You could contact Catalina Direct (www.catalinadirect.com) and see if they have anything you need, though it won't be used. You could also call Catalina directly and see if they have anything, ditto on the used merchandise. LaDonna

There was an earlier posting from someone who had purchased a C-22 that needed too much work to be economical. He was also missing a keel but may have other parts. Who knows, you may be able to work out a deal. Here's the link to his posting.

My suggestion

First, call or e-mail Catalina factory. Catalinayachts.com. You should be able to get any part you need from them. They'll probably send you a new owner packet with a parts price sheet. (well they did for my 77 C27, anyway.) Just because you bought an older used boat doesn't mean you can't get factory support. Catalina is very good about supporting all their boat owners, new or used. It's not like buying a car. Then I would find the International Catalina Association website linked somewhere on this webpage and start exploring, I'm sure you'll find many C22 enthusiasts willing to help you. Good Luck.
