NEED Engine for '94 Oceanis 351

Want to replace Perkins that seized with Model- Yanmar engine model 3YM 29 mhp / kW 21.3

Trying to find a low hours used engine or a new one form a dealer that will ship slightly above cost.

Any and all ideas welcome. I can't afford bust out retail. This my first year with boat. Winterized and commissioned by marina and then it died first time out. I am VERY bummed.

Yup. Piston blew hole on side of engine block. I am so pissed because I just bought the boat last year, had it winterized and commissioned professionally. Thought the smoke was thick when I ran it in the slip. Had them double check (and paid for those checks) only to be told it would burn off an all was AOK. First time out, 1/4 mile from mooring field "BANG" and it was history.

So hoping to find a Yanmar reseller that can just ship it to my mechanic (not same knuckleheads) and not charge me the normal multi thousand markup.

Go to the boat show in the fall and go to the yammer booth and buy there display model set it before hand you can save a bundle if you can wait that long

Good idea but what are the chances they will have the model I need on display?

just contact them and ask them what they are taking to the show for display or find out who the dealer is that is involved with that area ...make your deal with them before hand ...its called pre sold and works some time but not all the time ...a friend of mine did that at the Chicago boat show one year and saved about 6 grand on one.........they will be glad to not have to take it back home to their location

Woody, THANKS SO MUCH that is a GREAT idea. Will do that for sure if something doesn't pop up beforehand but our show is 9/18 so soon enough. . Thanks.
