Mast & Boom Slides

I am trying to find out a few things:

• I bought a used sail from Bacon Sails and it has a bolt rope/not slides for both the mast and boom. The rope is too small to fit into the mast track, and the rope on the foot is too big to work on the boom's track.
  • Is it safe to use the Mainsail without it being in the tracks (only attached by the three points?
  • If not, how can I fix it or should I return the sail while I still can?
  • What size slides does a Pearson 365 Ketch take? 3/4?
  • Is the Mizzen going to be the same as the Main in this regard?

You cannot use the sail without the lugs on the mast or mizzen. You need to consult a sailmaker and he can add the correct lugs to your luff. Good luck and good sailing, Ron
