I'm just throwing this out as an idea for discusion realizing that it probably won't come together.
This is the best price on a MacGregor 65 I've ever seen at $97,000 (granted, it needs the engine rebuilt). http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/boa/3405628026.html
Would it be a good idea for 15 people to create a 1/15th ownership offer for the boat? This would be the chance of a lifetime for us common folk to own a world class yacht capable of circumnavigating the world.
Boats don't usually sell for their original asking price so I believe $75,000 might be an offer they'd consider. Is there others out there that might entertain the idea of putting in $5,000 each to make a $75,000 offer for 1/15th ownership of this boat? A "yes" reply doesn't reflect a committnent as this is just a disscussion.
Each owner would get 24 days/year and would have to share 1/15th of mooring costs, 1/15th of costs to rebuild the engine, & 1/15 of upkeep costs. Also, any ideas of the lowest prices/locations for mooring such a large boat.
