Looping! Starting in Tampa, FL...

Hello everyone,

I kicked off my Great Loop adventure today! I plan to travel to Key West this week, the Bahamas in November, and work my way up the east coast as the weather gets warmer...

Tonight, I'm near Sarasota (Bird Key Yacht Club), and plan to cruise towards Venice tomorrow.

Anyone want to get together for a beverage or a meal when I'm passing through town?

Enjoy the stops on the route. No Hurries Mate! ICW or Gulf waters?

Don Pedro State Park, Boca Grande (the town.....anchor in canal at Pink Elephant Restaurant), Boca Grande Pass, all of Charlotte Harbor up to Punta Gorda (Fisherman's Village & Art Association Museum, Ponce de Leon waterfront park), Cayo Costa SP (Pelican Bay & Cabbage Key), Cape Coral, Ft Myers Beach, Naples, Marco Island (shallow draft? Marco River to Goodland with a stop at Stan's for lunch and a brew with the bikers), Panther Key, Everglades City (lunch at the Sportsman's Club), Little Shark River (dinner for the mosquitoes), under seven-mile bridge to Boot Key Harbor (boater friendly marina and bus to Key destinations)

Someone else can continue the travel suggestions from where I stopped.....

The Punta Gorda Sailing Club will be heading north up to Tampa plus around Oct. 25 or 28 from Pelican Bay with around 25 Boats so if you stop at Pelican Bay and Charlotte Harbor Oct. 19 Moon Light Regatta.
