We own a 1996 Pearson P38 Hull #22 built by Bristol Yacht for Cal-Pearson and are seeking a dodger pattern for P38 or P35. We believe the P38 was actually made from same molds as P35. Cabin top looks identical on older P38s and P35s and any help would be appreciated. Our purchase of this vessel in Annapolis listed a dodger in the paperwork however, it was not on the vessel and can not be located ashore. F Murphy, Maiden USA II

A canvas shop can build it from scratch
If you have the frame, any canvas shop worth working with can and will come to your boat measure your boat with you to layout the dodger, windows, and overhangs based on your sailing habits and needs. If you do not have the frame the same canvas shop will build it from scratch based on your needs and sailing habits. And, of course, they will install it. Dodger for P38
Unfortunately the marina we are located in charges above the cost of any canvas work done on the property. We had a meeting set up after the Philadelphia boat show with an alleged reputable canvas guy to meet us at our yacht club, however, even he did not show up, claiming we were late for appointment. He never arrived at out club blowing a chance to make our dodger, new bimini and a full cover for the boat. Unbelievable! I have a commercial sewing machine and can obtain all the necessary materials for the dodger. Just looking for a pattern if available. I am tired of wating for the person who never shows up. We will give it a try, and I have a mother-in-law who is willing to help me nbot make too many mistakes. Thanks again for your advise...Regards F Murphy

He also included a piece which bridges the dodger and bimini covering the entire cockpit. The P38 was/is very similar to the P36-2 with some interior changes and added swim platform.
