I lost my boat to Hurricane Charley and am looking for a Cal 29 or Cal 2-29. Other then the wheel steering, the Fairyman engine and the keel configuration, is there any other differences? Is there much difference in their sailing qualities? Living in Southwestern Florida I will need a bimini, however the mainsheet will get in the way. If I buy a Cal 29-2 can the mainsheet be moved to the end of the boom and the track moved to the back of the seats in the cockpit? If I remove the wheelsteering will the tiller work as well as the original Cal-29? Over the years I've owned a Cal-20, Cal-24,(the one with a centerboard),Cal 2-27, and a Cal 3-30. I have always admired the Cal-29 and look forward to sailing one.If anyone knows where there is one for sale, that's well equipped and at a reasonable price please write or call me. What I would really like is a Cal-2-29 with a different diesel engine with the wheel removed and a tiller installed. Marv Marcus msrm@comcast.net (941) 613-2912

Cals for sale

What is your brokerage name? The Cal 34 is larger then I need. What is the draft and the asking price? Is it a MK III? The old Cal-30 is not what I'm looking for at this time but please tell me about it. I might be interested.

Cal 2-29 new bern nc
bimini

I have a Cal 2-29..a four foot bimini will go in front of the main sheet and a captains bimini will fit behind the main sheet...that is how mine is and it is perfect. You will need to mount the forward bimini outside the coaming. Good luck but mine works great.

Cal-culated response

A Cal 2-29 with the pedestal removed and a tiller installed is called a Cal 29. They used alot of different engines, mine came with a Bukh, is that different or what?

Cal 2-29 maybe for sale

I own a 76 Cal 2-29 which I love dearly. There is a 78 Cal-2-29 across from me that might be for sale. It belongs to a friend of mine who never sails her. The interior cushions need to be replaced and it's powered by an Atomic Four. Everything else looks good and it sails great, but it's in North Carolina. If you're interested let me know.
