Lewamar Screens

Two questions
1)Is there anyone around that still has the original gray plastic sereens for Lewmar ports?

2) I bought one New-black Lewmar screen and not happy with it,found it next to impossible to install and if touched in any way would pop out.
Did eventually see one of the components holding frame together not holding properly am going to try and epoxy that component

You could check with Phil or Dave here at SBO. They carried the grey ones.

I've had the new black screens for a couple of years and like them much better than the grey. You have to make sure the rounded part of the clips, catch on the edge of the port frame on top first then push down the clip at the bottom again catching on the frame..

I have the original gray ones and I find them to be one of the most pathetic pieces of engineering I've encountered. Very hard to put in, very easy to pop out. The little "handles" on the inside have no use that I can discern, as your only hope of installation is from the outside. All of this goes double (or triple) for the large ports. My guess is that Lewmar didn't plan to have screens for these ports and then spent 5 minutes coming up with a retro fit.
