I have just purchased a Lancer 25 and we raised the mast the other day. All of the standing rigging is extremely loose. We have tightened down all of the shackles and there is still five or six inches of play. I don't think the rigging could of stretched that much. Has anyone had problems with the roof sagging that much? It doesn't have a the main pole that goes up to the roof/mast but instead there is a wall that supports the mast. I don't see any cracks in the fiberglass and the wall is not bowed. Any guesses what might be going on? Do you think it is cheaper to re-do all the rigging or look at raising the mast?

I suspect that a previous owner removed the compression post as My 79 L25 has one in the cabin.

We had the same problem. Designed a compression arch and had a local metal shop guy make it. Works great and is so much easier to reach the vb without having to pole dance. Roof doesn't move at all now.
