Order one via Northern tools manufacturer Dutton-Lainson 800lb brake wench for a third of what catalina direct wants. Got it in and it is perfect with 5 year warrwnty.

Does it use the larger drum size that the oem ones switched to ? Evidently Catalina factory switched to a larger drum to reduce cable damage.

In my experience, wenches are anything but cheap.

Traditionally they were for very short contract use. Much cheaper than a long or especially medium term contract

I have never seen a Keel Wench, I’ve spotted a few bilge wenches, but never a keel wench.
