Thanks for all the help on information for the 34. I was well prepared to talk to the surveyor on different issues concerning the 34. I moved up from a 27 and have no regrets. My wife and I with another couple sailed the boat down the Chesapeake Bay {135 NM} in 4 to 6 seas over 3 days and never had any problems. Average speed with a good current was no less than 8 and we even hit 11.5 a couple of times. A special thanks to Joe and Rich at Clipper Bay Yachts for all the help and making by first big purchase easy.

Welcome to the 34

We have had our 83-H34 for over 7 months now. Have sailed up and down from St. Augustine to Hilton Head. Overall she is a wonderfull boat. I am sure you will enjoy owning yours. I have undertaken several upgrade projects and have really gotten to know the inner workings. All part of the preparation for our Y2K Bahamas run. At the moment I am in the process of replacing the 4 fixed ports and frames. I should have a good article for the photo-forum in a couple of weeks. Congrats on your new vessel. Don't hesitate to ask questions on this site. The contributors are very knowledgable and willing to help. HOW is probably the most informative and well run site on the web. Scott 83-H34 Island Hops PS. Mike, ignore that last line (the well run part), I was just sucking up to Phil in order to win the next caption contest!
