Well thanks everyone.... I had a lot of confidence starting the engine, taking her out to sea, then over to my slip and turning off the engine. Boy that C310 handles nice. paulj

Paul...

Did you see my post on the C-310 site, in response to your picture, about your PSS? If not please check it out and get your PSS fixed fairly soon. I searched for an e-mail address to alert you about this before she went in the water but I could not find one. Here's the link to it: http://www.sailboatowners.com/forums/pviewall.tpl?fno=499.154&uid=73269937819&SKU=2007087151203.91

Hi Paul, Just in case you were't sure you understood the severity of what Maine Sail mentioned, this metal plug that's threaded into the PSS's carbon ring is certain to fail in a dangerous way. The problem here, as I understand, is that the brass and the carbon ring will not expand with heat in a compatible ways. The brass will expand more than the carbon can absorb. The carbon ring will very likely split in half and cause your boat to take on large amounts of water very quickly. This is why they used a plastic barb. You really should NOT motor your boat until this is changed. If you have any doubts about this, call PYI-Inc's tech support line and speak with Phil (manager of the shaft seal division). PYI Hotline Toll Free: 800-523-7558 Cheers! -Jeff http://www.catalina320.org/

That's good news

Paul, I'll bet you're glad to have her in the water! Did you have a chance to take here out for a sail this weekend?
