After about 20 years my p500 air conditioning pump bit the dust this past weekend. Luckily it happened late Sunday afternoon so I didn't suffer too long!. I ordered a new pump online but wondered the best way to connect the pump to the hoses flowing to my two compressors. Right now there is a white plastic tee fitting with plastic hose barbs screwed in to connect to the two outlet hoses. I was wondering if there is a way to connect without using plastic below the water line. The pump itself terminates in 1/2 inch NPT nylon thread. I don't think it's a good idea to connect bronze tee to the plastic. Am I wrong here?. What's best materials to use and if it is plastic then what type of plastic fitting (pvc , nylon, etc) should be used and where is best place to source these fittings?

Thanks.

installed new MArch LC3 pump using same pvc fittings from old pump to connect. noted that the wire from the old pump to the MarineAir control box terminated with a 3 prong plug that plugged into the wire going up to the AC. Has anyone seen that before!!?

All running cold again!
