Looking at water ballast Hunters(23.5-260), would like to know centerboard material. Also how much of the board is inside the trunk when retracted, and is there any weight on the board while trailering with the standard Hunter trailers
There is a lot of stuff I don't know - my wife reminds me daily.... Almost all of the weight on the H26/260 is on the trailer side bunks. I've heard numbers like 80/20 or 90/10 but I'd call Hunter for more info. I don't have a clue what the centerboard is made of. I'd like to know myself. There is some weight to the center board because it comes down quickly when released. I've always assumed it was a steel core with fiberglass shell but I'm really guessing. Pat Adam recently did a centerboard line replacement, maybe he's got some info there. Let us know what you find out.
