The Elders (sp?) on MOTH. They are beautiful boats. This one is quite nice and the owner does most of the work I believe.

I sailed around in my dinghy and took some shots. Hopefully, the owner will register and share his experience with the boat. He too was having some problems with Awlgrip letting go similar to what Dan showed me when he was in Rockport this summer. Anybody else have problems with awlgrip adhesion?

Well, Tom - it took me two years, but I just signed aboard last night, and have started combing the past messages...

This is a wonderful site, and thank you all who have made it possible!

Yes, I do pretty much everything in bringing MOTH back from a pretty sad state, but once we get past the chain plate problems, the deck scuppers problem, finishing sealing the rails, and rebuilding the rudder, (oh, and a few other projects) life should be sweet. In the meantime, we do a lot of sailing from Nantucket to Narragansett Bay...

The Zephyr's are a nice sailing boat, although don't point super well because of the beam, of course.

We have the original wooden boom, but are currently using an in-boom furling system from Schaefer with a Harding full-batten mainsail - never have to go on deck, which in the often rough conditions in Buzzards Bay or Nantucket/Vinyard Sound is pretty nice as we get older. She also balances nicely under a 130 genoa up to 20 knots, then up to 30 knots with a reef back to the shrouds, so many days we don't even bother with the main if we are short handed.

By the way, the 9' 9" nutshell pram tied astern is a wonderful tender, carts around 4 adults, sails well up to 25 knots, and tows just beautifully, never running up alongside as our 13' peapod tends to do.

Again, a tardy thanks for your posting our photo!

Hi John, good to see you here. We still talk about the few night we spent in Lake Tashmoo a couple years ago. It's wonderful anchorage. Also, it'll be great to get more Zephyr info, I love the boats, it was a treat to run into yours and meet you.
