Andy

Just gotta brag & moan. Using the Asym. spinaker with an ATN sock (ordered from HOW), we were first across the line. Crossed ahead of a spinaker rigged Merit 25 in very light and very varied winds. Merit had a PHRF of 171, the 29.5 has a 183! Thats the good news. The sad part is that the other (all non-spinaker boats) had PHRF's so high, that we ended up in 6th place! Where are the PHRF police? whine whine Oh well, I will tell you-the Asym. Spinaker will make you go downwind much faster, and I highly recommend the ATN sock sold through HOW.

Throw a bowsprit

Amen to Andy. If you want to reach a little more and get more speed, try a bowsprit extending out 3.5 feet from the prow. For details, email me at editor@vagazette.com.

Bowsprit Blues

I'm tinkering with that idea, but I want the boat to keep her "cruising convenience". Does you design mess up the anchoring? We're still waiting for some pictures on HOW!
