This really should be made widely known. Ed Schenk has posted that Hunter Owners' Manuals are available as JPEG pics at this site: http://people.ne.mediaone.net/tlyons/tdl/hunter/index.html Can you believe a boat company that gave you a manual like with a car? I have to admit that thought I heard about these manuals I've never actually seen one. Original hard-copy issues might be worth something. Also lots of good photos are to be seen at http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=204587#a=1888331 –but Ed says type an ampersand ('and'-sign) in place of the 'pound'-sign (#) or it won't work. What a great resources! Thanks, Ed

Hey John C. Jr.

Did you see the modified "Big Bed" design on the 27? I am going to add that to my winter project list. It would have been a great standard option from the factory though.

Big Bed

A former owner of our H27 made extentions to form a big bed by using 3/4 inch ply with a metal strip that acts as a flange or lip that rests on the edge of the settee base. There are two of these boards which covers most of the length of the settees and they store under the cushions. A foam pad brings the area over the boards to the level of the cushions.

Where are Big Bed plans?

John of Long Island, I am doing the "Big Bed" alteration this winter also. All I have seen in the files is a picture of the bed made. Have you seens more detailed plans anywhere?

David, see. . . .

the photo layout at the site mentioned(http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=204587#a=1888331). There is one photo of the frame there without the cushion(mattress). Be sure to replace the '#' with a real ampersand.

David...No Plans, Im going off photo

Im using the same photos everyone else is. The only difference I think I will do is instead of using Plywood and just lying the foam over them, I will make the cushions rigid. What I mean is I will lay the foam over the precut plywood and cover it with the cloth. I think three sectiond running fore to aft will be good. They should store better right on top of the aft port birth along with the slots, rather than having all seperate pieces as shown in the photos on (http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=204587#a=1888331). I really love the blue hull in the pictures. It looks almost as good as the 2000 ACP USA-55. The color is a little to dark though. And if anyone is interested Dennis Connor just got 10 million from a great NY company. His bid from the NYYC should be awsome in 2003. We east coast sailor have to support the local team. The Company is Computer Associates based out of Suffolk County Long Island. These guys are great, I loved them since they baught the NY Islanders last year. Now they qwn the only two teams I ever watch.

Re: big bed.

I did see that. Looks pretty cool. I would have used some other way of attaching the 2 x 4-looking crossmembers– though who cares if it works and you're happy with it? I promised my two girls they wouldn't have to share a bunk if we got a bigger boat and so I'll leave mine alone. [wink] JC

website

I've tried to access the website, but get messages that it's no longer available. Any suggestions?

Neil, no problem from here.

You do not state which web-site, there are two listed in Mr. C's original post. But I copied, then pasted, both of them into the web address field and they both worked just fine. The direct link to the "Cherubini" site has an ampersand in it that will not display here on HOW. That address:(http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=204587#a=1888331) requires that you enter it as you see it here but replace the '#' with a real ampersand. And I just now tried it, works OK.
