How is alternator connected

I purchased a 28' Irwin project boat. The alternator was not installed when the boat was purchased. Is there a diagram showing the electrical connections and possible wire colors.

Ahoy William; I am guessing you have an Atomic 4 in your boat. Most Irwin 28 came with this engine. If it is, you can go to this link and get the wiring diagram. Fair Winds Cap'n Dave

Alternators are sized depending on which engine you have and usaully come with wiring instructions. You need to invest in Nigel Calder's Boatowner's and Electrical Manual to help convert your project into a hands on, satisfying education. Best, Trevor
