This is the problem. I believe the cause is a couple things 1, over tightening the straps 2, whoever rebuilt the trailer should not have built the wood parts that are covered with carpet to come together in the center? I think the V of the hull was crushed in part because the boat was not perfectly centered on the trailer I’m confident I can fix it; I’m just not sure how to go about it. My first impulse is to grind/cut the hull back into shape, then use some kind of putty to fill and reform it then fiberglass and paint. But I am worried that water from the ballast will cause problems on the inside like delaminating the gelcoat from the fiberglass? Or any number of problems I can’t imagine.Does anybody have any insight how this can be fixed and what materials to use? Also I would love to see a photo of a typical MacGregor trailer. My first plan is to replace the rotting 2x4s with presser treated 2x6s
