Handicaping the Hunter 216
We are racing here and on Lake Lanier with the same handicap as a Catalina 27, std rig, OB. We do not have a spinnaker yet. It seems that this might not be quite fair as so far we've won all of our races by a significent margin. I'm sure the club will make us change it for the winter series as we probably won't see anything from Portsmouth until at least next April. This has come up before on the small boat forum and I don't think anyone has an answer as yet. If you are racing now, let us know here on the forum how you make out against other boats and we will do the same. Our series does't start up again until mid September. We probably won't have our spin kit installed before sometime in October. Good luck with your Races.
