Just back from 6 weeks in the salt chuck in the Pacific NW. Wonderful trip, excellent sailing. 3rd year with this 1994 H26 so still learning lots. My understanding is this boat lived most of its life in fresh water lakes. The previous owner had a can of Micron CSC that he suggested he had put on now 4 years ago. I prep'd and put on a coat of this last year. Bottom looked good before launch 6 weeks ago.

Poor adhesion - can be caused by wax left over when the hull was formed or some other contamination. The paint is going to need to come off and the hull properly prep'ed for paint - wash with a solvent to remove contaminants and lightly sand. The keel also needs the paint removed, the prep depends on what it is made of. Hopefully, the adhesion is so poor, the paint comes right off.

If you plan to apply new barrier coat suggest 5 - 7 coats of epoxy AFTER the bottom is dry and BEFORE you apply anti fouling paint. Please refer to the article below on barrier coating your sailboat.

Look at post # 4 in this thread for getting the hull ready for a new coat
