There's a ray of hope for you H25 owners out there with broken forward hatches! As most of you know by now, it's pretty much impossible to get an exact replacement for that forward hatch (was a Gray #204 (#207?), Gray bought by Bomar, Bomar no longer carries anything that size). I replaced the forward hatch on my H25 with a Lewmar Ocean 60 (Flat base). It's a square hatch, but the base of the hatch covers the entire opening in the deck. Because it's a flat base, there was no need to modify the hole for a flange. The hinges and latched for the hatch fit inside the deck cutout, and the base fits around the whole cutout (barely!). It took me about 3 and a half hours to peel out the old hatch frame, remove the sealant from the deck (120 grit sandpaper), measure/mark/drill, and install the new hatch. I used 1 sheet of sandpaper, one small tube of 5200, about 20 #10 screws, and of course, one hatch. New hatch looks good, and doesn't leak (making it a VAST improvement over the old one!). I recommend this repair to those with leaky hatches... Photos of the finished product will be available soon!--Jon BastienH25 'Adagio'
