The sender atop my fuel tank needs to be replaced since the fuel gauge itself (which does function when you connect it to a charge) is always on empty. Has anyone replaced their sender? Where can you get the part? Does anyone think the problem might be something else? Thanks.

I also have a Cal 28

and had a "bad sender". I removed it and it seemed to work normally. So I figured that it must have just gotten stuck in one position or another. So, I re installed it and it has worked ever since. You can usually read it manually by looking at the red arrow on top of the sender if the electronics are bad). Otherwise, just replace it with one that can be bought inexpensively at West Marine. 5 screws and 2 wires and you're done. Good luck.
