We are about to begin the dreaded "Drinking/Freshwater Tank(s) Cleaning" ordeal. We're looking for new, creative, innovative ways of doing so. Normally we have to let all the water run out of the tanks, flush them repeatedly, participate in chemistry class, and refill. Does anyone do it differently or have some spiffy method to brighten up our task?

fellow on the other forum, check the archives and I think you will find that Peggie recommends using bleach added to your full water tank as a taste and smell treatment. I do not remember the ratio but you can find her recipe in the archives. Terry

if there was some new cleaning method. It sounds to me like B&H is already aware of the chlorox treatment. My experience and research tells me that the usual method is not a good idea for systems which have aluminum tanks. If that seems contrary to you, I simply do not understand your thinking. You are obviously free to do anything you want.

I use pool shock in my water tanks. (do not use on aluminum tanks). I do not use my water for drinking. Dishes, shower& cooking.
