I don't know if I'm doing this correctly, but I need a new forward hatch cover for my Islander 28.
If you have an I28, you'll know what I'm talking about.
It's curved 1/2" smoked acrylic.
Somebody said I might have to have it custom made.
Is that true? Is that even possible?
I have photos.
Thanks!
Joe.

Hi Woody.
Yeah, that's mine. On the bottom left you'll see tape holding it together.

Mark Plastics

All of the plastic components for Islanders were made by Mark Plastics. They are still in business: www.markplastic.Com At least I think that's their address. I bought replacement dead lights for the main cabin a few years ago and they had a forward hatch at that time. 951.735.7705 is their number.

Wow! Thank you very much! This forum stuff really does work, doesn't it?
I'll give Mark Plastics a shout.
If I have any luck, I'll let everyone know.

Throttle

First of all, Mark Plastics was definitely the source! Thank you!

Secondly, I have a question...

We had our maiden voyage on Saturday from City Island, Bronx to Oyster Bay, LI.
Cold as a _______!

The throttle would not stay above 3000 rpm. I could hold it at 3500 or 4000, but as soon as I let it go, it would ease itself back to 3000.
Just making sure... Is that normal. Is that a built in safety feature? or is something wrong?

Thanks! Joe.
