engine size

I have a 1981 25'. the previous owner put a 9.8 hp on the boat and said its the highest for the hull rating its been on the boat for 3 yrs... if purchasing a new motor try to stay with one that is common to the area you are in ... I had some work done on my mercury and found it difficult to find a shop and marinas that have parts... ..
