Happy summer sailing to all! I am in dire need of batten parts for my Elvstrom main sail. The part I am needing is the large aluminum "set screw" that tightens the battens and hoilds them in the pockets. It located at the luff end of the sail. I can not find any dealer or sail loft that has any such parts. Any help from someone who has had a similar problem? I'm located in the Pacific NW. Thanks in advance. Mike S/V Isotonic 38 Ocean

Did you try Challenge Sailcloth?

Mike, Some of the batten parts, such as the round batten material and the batten "pockets" that attach to the luff slides on the mast, I've gotten from Challenge Sailcloth in Costa Mesa, CA. I don't know if they have the part you're looking for; you can download their catalogue from the link below. Otherwise, you can probably have the part made. Batten part still unresolved

What I'm actually needing is the large aluminum tightening screw at the luff end of the main sail batten pocket. This is then held secure by a much smaller set screw. The batten screw came loose and fell out during a close haul in 25 knot winds last fall. I thought the part would be simple (ya right!) to locate... The suggestions given so far are for sail material which this is not. Any one else have a similar problem before?? Mike
