My last sail of the season was last weekend (October 18th).

Had a good season - didn't get out on the water as much as usual, but had some great trips.

Looking forward to hearing from some of you Florida folks while I am shoveling snow up here in Michigan!

Yesterday John.

Just pulled my centerboarder out yesterday after a really nice run down the lake and back. Including a wind-on-wing segment with the jib poled out. Almost had her planing. Today the mast comes down and into winter storage she goes. Sad time of year for us yankee sailors.

premature end

Sounds wonderful Ed. But those of us on Fern Ridge Res. had our season ended prematurely, as always, due to congressional fiat. The legislation establishing the reservoir mandates the Corps of Engineers to pull the plug on or about the first monday of October - regardless of water level or weather conditions. As it happens, we're enjoying a streak of beautiful clear weather with pleasant winds, but no water to play on. The truly aggravating thing is that dry weather is common for us in October.
Local boating organizations have tried talking to congress about re-writing the rule curve that controls the maximum permissible depth for years. So far, no go. Maybe this next congress will not waste so much time arguing and have time to consider our plight. In the mean time, its sure nice to hear about ongoing sailing fun and adventures.
