I'm looking for information regarding an ice bubbler/de-icer. Does anyone know where I can find a , Cascade Corp. Ice Machine size 3, model#03848?
I was given the above information from someone that bubbles their slip during the winter. He mentioned that he has used two other bubblers and both failed before the end of winter.
Any info would be appreciated.

I have been around a lot of lake deicers through the years and I have seen few failures especially in the first 5 to 10 years. I have seen many last well beyond that - especially when maintained. I've never heard of the cascade brand and was very curious enough to ask around and also scour the web without success. I've never doubted that mine will work for me - even in the dead of Minnesota winter - to keep my dock area ice free. No doubt you want a quality lake deicer because you need peace of mind. I'm not sure you want to trust an unknown brand. Here a site with some decent educational value re decing methods www.lakdeicer.com Hope that helps.

Itsmeagain,
thanks for the info. I'm starting to agree with you about an un-known. Maybe it's time for me and my slip-mate to have a serious discussion about a different brand.
Thanks again.

There is another new twist to deicing that I am looking into called an Aqua Thruster 360 that oscillates the deicer and gives an expanded coverage area. My concern is the cost of it but if it does what they say it should do, I should be able to operate one less deicer and also reduce my electric consumption costs which should be a win for me. I have talked to the guys at lakedeicer.com and they have nearly convinced me but I have a couple of weeks before I need to decide.
