Where can I get the plate that is attached to the bottom of the mast. The plate is attached to the deck with two pins.

Mast Plate

John - Call Cape Cod Shipbuilders. Since you have a 93, they were the builders, but they also have parts for all years. PO Box 152 Wareham ME 02571 Phone: 508-295-3550 Fax: 508-295-3551 E-Mail: ccsb@four.net Justin - O'day Owners' Web

mast tabernacle

Dwyer Mast Co. sells the plates. I think they were about $60. I questioned their measurments when I installed mine because when finished, My schrouds fully extended were still too short. I ended up installing longer turnbuckles. I sent Dwyer an email stating that I thought they should add an additional three quarters of an inch to their measurments, which would be a total of one and a half inches, but never received an answer.

Another Querstion!

Is there supposed to be a mast step/tabernacle on a 1969 Daysailor? Is it on the "cabin" deck top or on the bottom of the "cabin" and the mast passes through the "cabin" top? (I know the Daysailor does not have a cabin. I refer to the raised part of the deck as the "cabin".) If the mast does step through this "cabin" top, how do you get it raised unless you are Arnold Scharznegger? HELP Please!

Keel stepped

Tom - Your 1969 probably has a mast stepped on the keel, running through the cabin top. To step it try holding the mast in the middle so its balanced. Let the bottom tip into the hole. Then you can use the egdes of the hole (the mast partner) to be the fulcrum while you raise the mast the rest of the way and attach the shrouds. Justin - O'day Owners' Web
