What type of spinnaker/genaker do you suggest for a heavy cruising sailboat sailed by an aging couple?

APC

Joseph, I would absolutely recommend a Doyle APC with an ATN Spinnaker Sleeve/Sock. These are rugged cruising kites that are easy to set, fly, and douse with 2 people. They are very stable and will provide plenty of additional power over a fairly wide range of apparent wind angles. We have built many APC'c for Wauquiez yachts. The best thing is that you can get a quote and order one without leaving the sailboatowners.com website! Thanks, Bill C.

Cruising spinnaker technique

Hi, Bill! I flew my DOYLE APC for the first time last summer. WOW! What a rush! But, I quickly realized that I just don't have the technique down pat yet. What do you recommend as a proper procedure for setting up and flying one of these sails? Yes - I have the dousing sock. Problems: Sheet getting tangled in the furling Genoa sheets, sail not pulling efficiently downwind, etc. Thanks! Bill on STARGAZER
