Good morning all ...my husband and I have the opportunity to buy a 38 footer. We are planning for 5 years of dry dock to ensure she and we are ready....5 years of inland and costal sailing....then we take her out to sea. Keeping in mind that my husband has been sailing for 30 years and has much experience with everything from fiberglass repair to small motor repairs, is there something in particular that we should be looking for in the Columbia 38...hichups/glitches that they are renouned for?...Other than the keal/rudder modification from the 40 footer to the 38, we can't seem to find anything. I understand that these vessels were built in moderate amounts...only 49 of the 38's and 55 of the 40, but does the lack of literature (negative or positive for that matter) simply mean that owners are happy and have no issues with these ships? Any and all replies would be greatly appreciated.tripper@nrtco.net or 1 613 687 2677We wish you all wind in your sails!
