Hi, I have a 1976 Seafarer 22 and it looks like the cockpit drain has the original hose. Its about a 6 '' piece of ''radiator hose'', connected to the thru-hull via a large bronze seacock valve. What is the proper marine-duty hose to replace it and are there any special installation methods? Winnebago

for the cockpit drain, it has no pressure, no harmful chemicals, and no heat or sunlight so you can use about anything rubber that will fit... there is exhaust/waterline hose, sanitation hose, radiator hose.... in a pinch you could even use fuel hose.

radiator hose can last years and years on a system that develops heat and pressure in a much harsher environment an automobile, so i don't see any reason why it shouldn't be used as a replacement for a water drain, when that is what is installed now and has been working fine.
