I'm in the process of changing the mainsheet system on my Hunter 23. I need to add traveler controls and while I at it, I've begun considering using a traveler+central fixed final block/cam cleat arrangement. It certainly will make hatch entry difficult and I'll have to add a snap shackle to the bottom of the block to allow it to be moved/stowed for access. What is the sail performance advantage of this fixed final block system? Idly curious and capable of anything, Greg-

Thanks!

Greg: Thanks for the heads up on the back stay tensioner attachment. I will try that immediately. After looking at the photo of your mainsheet system, I can see why you would want to add line control to the traveler, and perhaps more purchase to the mainsheet. Unless cockpit combing interferes with mainsheet trimming, I can't think of any advantage to a fixed block system. You are rignt, it looks like it would be in the way. Sail Fast! RB
