I've sailed and trailered my boat for years and love the boat, but its one draw back is its shallow draft only 2'8" with a full keel. I've often thought of adding a center boat or dagger board or anyhing to increase draft (especially when I'm bouncing around in heavy winds or rolling around at anchor. Anybody got any ideas on how to do it?

bulbs and wings

Sorry I can't point you to a specific site but I know there are custom keel companies out there, which will pour a lead or cast iron bulb or wing to bolt and expoxy on to the bottom of your current keel without adding to the draft. That way you don't have to get your trailer modified, too. Some advertise in various sailing magazines. Try looking in google or the classifieds in several mags. These will make you boat stiffer, without ramp or gunkholing difficulties that going to a high aspect keel would involve.

That's the one

Mars Metal is the one I was thinking of, but couldn't remember exactly. Good products, good service, proven track record.
